Sant Feliu de Guixols

The next town over from Tossa lies Sant Feliu de Guixols, yet another amazing corner of the Costa Brava. Boasting beaches and coves surrounded by pine tree forests and with the charm of being a seaside town, this is an easy and rewarding place to visit.

What to do

• Take in the panoramic view at El Salvament (The Maritime Rescue Museum). In the summertime you can find a little bar there.
• Walk through the Cala de l'Ametller Nature Preserve and swim in the hidden coves (Cala del Molí & Cala Cap de Mort).
• Any art lovers should check out the L'Espai Carmen Thyssen Museum.
• The Costa Brava is famous for their summer music festivals. If you’re visiting in July through August, head to the Port Ferrada festival.

Where to go

• Visit the Toy History Museum. At night they convert it into a bar. Yup, only in Catalunya… ;)
• Visit the 10th century monastery.
• Hit the beach at Platja de Sant Feliu de Guixols or Platja de Sant Pol.
• Walk to the Eremita sant Elm for some stellar views.

Where to eat

• For a traditional meal that’s on the Michelin guide, go to Cau del Pescador.
• If you’re looking for something a bit more fancy, we love El Ginjoler a l'Hort del Rector’s tapas menu: 10 tapas for the table for 58 euros.
• Wherever you go, remember that the town has always been dedicated to fishing for Blue Fish: sardines, anchovies, mackerel, surell, tuna, bonito, swordfish… So definitely give them a try!
• Pick up some traditionally wood-fired baked bread at la Ibicenca. It’s a picture perfect bakery.
• Get some local treats or fresh fruit from the Sunday Market at the town’s Plaça del Mercat.
