About this place

The meaning of the name of this beautiful village becomes apparent to any visitor (the word ‘pedra’ + ‘tallada’, literally means ‘stone’ + ‘engraved’). Our advice is to just get lost in its stone alleys discovering all of its medieval corners. Photogenic is an understatement ;)

What to do

  • Head to the tourism office and get a map.
  • Head to street “El Carrer d’en Vas” for the most photographed spot in the village.
  • Also the Plaça Esquiladors.
  • Go gallery hopping.
  • In April there’s a medicinal herb fair.
  • October 3rd - 4th there’s a medieval fair.

Where to go

  • Before entering the town, check out the Church of Sant Esteves de Peratallada. It’s unusual that it’s outside the town walls and is rumored to be because of some drama between a priest and the lord of the castle.
  • Check out the Castle of Peratallada.
  • Also head to the nearby towns of Pals or Begur, two birds one stone!

Where to eat

Lunch Options:

  • Candelaria
  • Cala Nena
  • L'Eixida Restaurant Gastronòmic

Cool off at Gelat Artesà de Peratallada, they’re known for their artisanal ice creams with funky flavors like anchovy and roquefort cheese.

Get a coffee and people watch at the Plaza del Castillo.

Top Tip

Wear comfortable walking shoes. Unfortunately, the medieval era was not meant for platforms ;)
