About this place

Yes, yet another medieval town... But by no means any less magical ;) Pals really has it all-- incredible gastronomy, the countryside, the seascape, a beautifully preserved medieval village, and even rice paddies! Yup, for 5 centuries this medieval village has been producing rice.

What to do

  • Go on a tour of the rice fields.
  • Go on a tour of the historical center or explore it yourself ;)
  • Any wine lovers, head to the Museu-Casa de Cultura Ca La Pruna, to visit the exhibition of Catalan wines & cavas.
  • Gallery hop and shop at the little Catalan ceramics shops.
  • If you’re travelling with kids, then the Parc Aventura Costa Brava is a must!

Where to go

  • Don’t miss the Town Square, the Church, the Torre de les Hores, and the Visigoth tombs.
  • Explore Pedró and get lost in the cobblestone streets.
  • Take in the panoramic view at the mirador Josep Pla.
  • Squeeze in some nature at the Natural Park of Montgrí.
  • Take a little siesta at the Platja de Pals beach.
  • Get more out of your day trip and head to Peratallada, Begur or Palafrugell.

Where to eat

  • Vicus Restaurant- It should have a Michelin star… We love their lunch tapas menu for 20 euros per person, or their paella rice menu for 40.
  • There’s nothing like picking up a rotisserie chicken at Rostisseria Can Padrès and heading to a park or beach.
  • Wherever you end up, be sure to order some type of rice dish (Arròs de Pals a la cassola is their traditional dish which you can get at any one of the local restaurants).
