About this place
The first museum of contemporary art in Spain was, of all places, built in Tossa in 1935. It was in this time period that the town became a magnet for all types of artists who decided to settle down here and work, making it an important vanguard hub. A group of artistic intellectuals founded the Municipal Museum to document all of the work that was being created here.
