About this place

A picturesque fishing village that sits on the rocky coast featuring row boats scattered along its pebbled beaches and whitewashed houses with splashes of blue shutters.

What to do

  • Get a bird’s eye view of the town at the Torre de Can Mario tower.
  • Any art buffs should head to the Museu Can Mario at the bottom of the tower for some contemporary sculptures.
  • And for any wine lovers, head to the Museu del Suro where you can learn about Palafrugell’s cork history. It’s kid-friendly too ;)

Where to go

  • Check out the Cap Roig Botanical Gardens for a picnic or a nice stroll.
  • Port Bo beach, yes please!
  • The lighthouse of Sant Sebastià will apparently make you fall in love. We don’t know about that, but what we do know for sure is that it offers some stellar views of the coastline.
  • Climb to the top of the Torre de Guaita for some views of Emporda and the surrounding mountains. In the middle of the tower they have a small art gallery.
  • Go to the town of Begur after!

Where to eat

  • Get a delicious chocolate croissant at Fleca Can Baldiri. They’ve been making them for 164 years!
  • Eat lunch at El Balcó de Calella. Try snagging a table outside with beautiful sea-views!
  • Head to L’Enxaneta for an ice cream.
  • Restaurant Tragamar.
  • If you happen to be there from January-March, definitely try a sea urchin dish at any restaurant featuring a menu “de la Garoinada”
