About this place

Back in the 1900’s Passeig de Gracia was the place to be. The boulevard was where high-end shops and theatres were, and where the wealthy class decided to build their homes. One of them was the Mila couple who commissioned famous architect Antoni Gaudi to undertake their project.

The result was a complex building devoid of any straight lines that was extremely controversial and yes, extremely over budget. But nowadays, it’s admired as a bold feat of architecture and a World Heritage Site that you can visit and get wavy ;)

Fun fact

Gaudi broke a lot of rules constructing the house and threatened that if he had to cut down a column because of an inspector, he would have a plaque put up stating “the section of column that is missing was cut at the order of the City Council”... Talk about dedication for your craft!
