Though flamenco is from the south of Spain, this three month long festival brings the most important stars to impressive venues around the city like Palau de la Música. Starting around October time, you’ll be able to go on a journey of deeply-rooted flamenco culture, and cross that off of your Spanish bucket list. You’ll quickly discover that flamenco is much more than that flamenco is so much more than elegant, emoji-like ladies in red dresses.

The spanish word "duende" has no direct translation to english and refers to the true soul of flamenco. It’s a passionate energy that puts both the artists and audience in a state of trance. So while these larger venues are an unforgettable experience, definitely head to a more intimate "tabla" venue to get a feel of what flamenco is really about: raw emotion and mesmerizing facial expressions.
